Responsibilities You will assist in maintaining vulnerable people in the community by providing a range of care management tasks. These include the assessment of individual need, the negotiation of flexible packages of care, and the monitoring and reviewing of individual care packages. The Individual You will have experience and knowledge of social work values, a working knowledge of assessing needs, working with other professionals and third sector agencies, an interest in working with physical disabilities and older adults and knowledge of community care. You will have good verbal and written communication and an ability to work effectively with a variety of other agencies. You will have IT/PC competence, knowledge of Person Centred Planning, Personal Outcomes Approaches and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet challenges and deadlines are also essential. You will be able to build good, trusting relationships with service users, colleagues and other professional staff and be flexible in your approach to work. You will be able to work effectively as part of a team. Knowledge of Children and Adult Support and Protection legislation and Adults with incapacity Legislation is also required. You must be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within specified timescale. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
