Technical Market Data Analyst, Hedge Fund, London [Onsite]
We are working with a fast-growing fixed income hedge fund who are looking to hire a technical market data analyst to join their evolving team in London. There is subtle buzz about the firm and it’s fair to say that they have a definite “start-up” feel to them. This is a good opportunity for someone keen to take on more responsibility and to operate with a certain level of autonomy. This is a high impact position where there is a need for a ‘Swiss Army knife’.
In this role, you’ll operate across the business, including collaborating closely to PMs, traders and quants to understand their data needs, which will then be communicated to the central data team. You will act as a technical bridge between the front office stakeholders and the wider engineers who will facilitate and implement the requirements. The current data processes and systems are being established as the business expands. However, there is a clear need for someone to help navigate the data landscape and to act as a conduit point to tie the various teams together. You will also be involved in engineering solutions. Such activities will include onboarding, maintaining, and analysing large-scale datasets using SQL and Python, and building automated data pipelines and workflows.
Due to the central importance of this position, the requirements are as follows:
* 4-7 years of experience, preferably on the buy side, working with front office stakeholders on data-driven initiatives, such as market data analytics. Outliers will be considered as there is scope to build the role around the candidate.
* Strong programming ability across the data stack, including data modelling and pipeline development. Python and SQL are core necessities.
* Minimum of an undergraduate in Comp Sci or similar at a highly regarded institution
* Strong communication skills and the ability to operate within a time-sensitive environment.
