Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer provides manufacturing engineering support to operational and development programs, focusing on zero defect projects through engineering and problem-solving skills. Responsible for delivering robust manufacturing process technology related to materials, tooling, fabrication, and assembly.
Job Responsibilities
* Ensure safety-first mindset and compliance with GKN Aerospace health, safety, and environmental policies.
* Develop technical solutions for complex problems involving GKN Aerospace, customers, and suppliers.
* Support manufacturing process development and integration for production.
* Use root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce non-conformances.
* Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers and co-workers.
* Implement Lean initiatives to improve production processes.
* Develop manufacturing process solutions for complex problems.
* Manage production planning from concept to production, ensuring process capability using GKN’s Zero Defect Manufacturing tools.
* Oversee product development, first article development, configuration changes, and build processes.
* Own processes with expertise in multiple manufacturing disciplines.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree, preferably in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering.
* At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
* US Citizenship or Green Card required for security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with GKN, aerospace industry, or MRO organizations.
* Skills in welding, blending, inspection, chemical cleaning, CNC machining.
* Knowledge of ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000 quality systems.
* Ability to provide technical input and drive timely completion of tasks.
* Logical analytical skills and understanding of business structures.
Compensation Range
$91,083 - $113,853
