We’re seeking Mentors to join our team and work with children and young people in Fareham and surrounding areas. This is a fulfilling opportunity to create lasting change through meaningful, one-to-one mentoring.
As a Mentor, you will:
Mentoring sessions are designed to:
1. Build confidence and self-esteem
2. Teach life skills such as cooking, communication, and self-care
3. Support mental health through activities like walking and talking
4. Encourage positive social interaction through games and outings
5. Help young people navigate the world with confidence and resilience
You’ll be a trusted adult role model, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical support to help them become well-rounded individuals.
We offer vacancies ranging from 2 to 15 hours per week, typically during school hours. Sessions are spread across the week and can be tailored to suit your availability:
6. 4 hours/week: 2 hours across 2 days or 1 hour across 4 days
7. 5 hours/week: 1 hour a day, Monday to Friday
8. 6 hours/week: 2 hours across 3 days, 3 hours across 2 days, or hours across 4 days
9. 10 hours/week: 2 hours a day, Monday to Friday
10. 15 hours/week: 3 hours a day, Monday to Friday

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
15. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
16. Hold right to work in the UK
17. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
18. Provide references upon request
19. Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
