Infant Feeding Coordinator - Band 7 - 28.5 hours - 12 months FTC/secondment
The post holder will work as part of the Trust’s Integrated Infant Feeding Team to implement the UNICEF Baby Friendly Standards across hospital and community services. They will contribute to and implement the multi-agency Tameside Infant Feeding Strategy, provide professional leadership and expert knowledge in infant feeding, and offer specialist clinical infant feeding support.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the delivery of infant feeding services across maternity/NICU/0-19 years community services to increase breastfeeding rates, promote responsive bottle feeding and healthy eating practices, and influence the introduction of solids.
The post holder will work closely with partners in hospital, community, primary care, Family Hubs and Maternity Voices Partnership within Tameside, and a range of voluntary services to develop infant feeding services across the borough.

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge
* Registered Midwife / Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visiting)
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* UNICEF Train the Trainer
* UNICEF Breastfeeding & Relationship Training
* V100 Nurse Prescriber
* Experience in developing training programmes
Experience
* Experience providing specialist breastfeeding support
* Experience teaching and presenting to groups
* Experience and understanding of safeguarding procedures and guidance
* Leadership and management skills
* Experience of working with children and families in hospital or community settings
* Understanding of clinical governance and audit
Knowledge
* Knowledge of Baby Friendly Initiative
