This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference, primarily supporting students across Key Stage 3.
The Role: Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant (KS3)

Location: Huyton, Merseyside

Contract: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent
*
Hours: 5 days per week - Monday to Friday - 8:30-15:30
*
Key Stage Focus: Primarily Key Stage 3 (Ages 11-14)
*
Role Focus: Working flexibly across different classes to provide tailored support
*
Start Date: We have different start dates throughout the year
*
Training: Positive handling training will be provided
About the Students
This school caters to students with diverse and complex needs. You will be supporting students primarily diagnosed with:

Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
*
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
*
Some classes have students with more complex needs
*
Hearing impairments
*
Epilepsy
What We Are Looking For:
We need an exceptional Teaching Assistant who is:
*
Passionate and Patient: Dedicated to supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students with SEND.
*
Flexible and Proactive: Able to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and student needs across Key Stage 3.
*
Team Player: Proficient in taking direction from the Class Teacher and working collaboratively with other staff members.
*
Supportive and Encouraging: Able to build strong, positive relationships with students to promote engagement and independence.
*
Experience in SEND (Beneficial): Experience working with MLD, ASD, or in a special school setting is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities Will Include:
*
Providing in-class support to individuals or small groups across various subjects.
*
Assisting students with their learning tasks, promoting understanding and participation.
*
Supporting the management of student behaviour, implementing agreed strategies (e.g., using PECS, visual schedules, or de-escalation techniques).
*
Aiding in the preparation of classroom resources.
*
Assisting with personal care needs where required.
