Arts University Plymouth is seeking a dynamic and committed Lecturer to join our postgraduate teaching team. This role offers a creative academic environment that values innovative teaching, interdisciplinary learning, and student success.
About You
* Proven experience in higher education teaching, particularly in contemporary craft, ceramics, glass, biomaterials, or a related materially‑led creative practice.
* In‑depth understanding of the creative and craft industries with the ability to apply theory to practice.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.
* Minimum of an MA level qualification.
* Experience with techniques in ceramics, hot glass, or biomaterials is advantageous.
About the Role
* Deliver high‑quality postgraduate teaching, feedback and assessment across subject‑specific and cross‑disciplinary units and seminars.
* Lead assigned units – planning, scheduling, delivery, and assessment – while maintaining accurate and timely reporting.
* Foster innovative and inclusive learning environments that promote student engagement, progression, and achievement.
* Support students’ professional development and career preparedness aligned with graduate outcomes.
