Overview
We are looking for a Band 7 Specialist Diabetes Podiatrist to work as part of Herts Valleys Integrated Diabetes Service (HIDS) covering West Hertfordshire. We would welcome applications for full time or part time work. The successful applicant needs to either be a non medical prescriber or be willing to undertake training to become a non medical prescriber (supported by us).
HIDS provides podiatry to people with diabetes from 10 clinical sites and works in an integrated way with West Herts Teaching Hospital Trust consultant team to provide MDFT and in-patient ward rounds as well as community clinics. This is an exciting opportunity for an HCPC registered Podiatrist. The base for this role is negotiable within West Herts but will involve working at Watford General Hospital and Hemel Hempstead General Hospital.

Responsibilities
* Work across the community and acute service running MDFT clinics at Watford General Hospital and Hemel Hempstead General Hospital.
* Participate in the MDT ward rounds at Watford General Hospital as well as community clinics.
* Be part of the clinician of the day rota and contribute to integrated care with the multidisciplinary team.
* Provide advanced assessment, diagnostic, treatment and management of patients with complex needs in podiatric diabetes care.
* Act as an expert resource for patients and promote self-management principles in appropriate patients.
* Collaborate with all members of the multidisciplinary team to promote standards of care in line with local and national guidelines and to educate professionals, patients and carers.
Qualifications and Requirements
* HCPC registration as a Podiatrist.
* Qualified to administer local anaesthetic.
* Non-medical prescriber status or willingness to undertake training to become a non-medical prescriber (supported by the employer).
* Full valid driving licence and access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by The Equality Act 2010).
