You will contribute to the ongoing development of academic programmes, engage in research and scholarly activity, and support the wider academic mission of the College.This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator or experienced industry professional who is passionate about developing future health and social care practitioners.Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Curriculum Delivery
Deliver engaging and academically robust lectures, seminars, and workshops across core Health and Social Care modules.
Design, develop, and enhance teaching materials that reflect current professional and regulatory standards.
Implement diverse teaching strategies that support inclusive and effective learning for all students.Student Support & Assessment
Supervise dissertations, projects, fieldwork, and placements.
Develop fair and transparent assessments in line with institutional policies.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to promote student progression and achievement.
Act as a personal tutor, supporting students academically and pastorally.Research, Scholarship & Professional Practice
Engage in scholarly activity that contributes to the field and informs teaching practice.
Participate in collaborative research projects and academic publications.
Support knowledge‑exchange activities and pursue research funding where appropriate.Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
Build and maintain strong relationships with health and social care providers to support placements, research, and community engagement initiatives.
Represent UKMC at professional events, conferences, and external networks.Quality Assurance & Academic Administration
Contribute to programme development, review, and accreditation processes.
Maintain accurate assessment records and support academic regulations and compliance requirements.
Participate in committee work, student admissions, and academic planning activities.Person SpecificationQualifications
Master’s degree in Health and Social Care or a closely related field (required).
PhD or equivalent professional expertise (desirable).
Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one (e.g., PGCert in Learning & Teaching).Experience
Experience teaching or training at higher education level.
Professional experience within the health or social care sectors is advantageous.
Evidence of research activity, publications, or conference contributions is desirable.Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students effectively.
Strong organisational and academic planning skills.
Commitment to inclusive, student‑centred teaching.
