We're looking for a Multiskilled Shift Engineer (HVAC Bias) who will deliver a multi‑skilled maintenance service across electrical and mechanical disciplines, providing both reactive and proactive maintenance in line with project and service requirements.
About the Role
You will carry out modifications, installations, maintenance, repairs, and calibration on electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation plant to optimise reliability, safety, and performance. The role involves meeting all KPIs, liaising effectively with contractors and suppliers where needed, and ensuring all documentation and reports are completed accurately and on time.
Role Responsibilities
1. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across the hospital.
2. Complete repairs, modifications, and installations as required.
3. Maintain, repair, and calibrate electrical and mechanical plant equipment.
4. Respond promptly to breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime.
5. Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures and site standards.
6. Produce clear and accurate reports and complete all relevant paperwork.
Key Responsibilities
7. Complete PPM and reactive maintenance activities to a high standard.
8. Use appropriate tools and test equipment safely and effectively, understanding their limitations.
9. Maintain excellent housekeeping in all work areas.
10. Attend toolbox talks and contribute to a positive safety culture.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:
11. NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning
12. F-Gas qualification
13. Strong understanding of electrical systems, plant equipment, and controls.
14. Ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings and procedures.
15. Self‑motivated, well‑organised, and keen to develop skills.
16. Professional, respectful, and confident in raising safety concerns.
