Position: Staff Officer
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Belfast City Centre
Duration: 3 months (with the option to extend, providing cover until substantive post is filled)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Rate of Pay: £17.09 Per Hour
Main Duties Include:
1. Manage and generate social media content.
2. Evaluate brand identity and marketing.
3. Liaise with Corporate Communications on design and marketing material.
4. Liaise with Press Office and provide content for the Twitter account.
5. Co-ordinate review of web content, ensure content is up to date with all relevant content.
6. Monitor filming applications at sites for promotional opportunities.
7. Promote events using available resources for maximum impact.
8. Contribute to the development and implementation of plans for communications, supporting the Deputy Principal as required, engaging with all parts of the Division to understand their communication needs.
9. Building strong relationships with colleagues to understand, advise, and deliver their communication needs.
10. Developing and implementing a plan and associated activities (internal and external), involving liaising with colleagues to understand their key messages and target audiences.
11. Active participation at meetings and input to areas of governance appropriate to the Staff Officer grade.
12. Reviewing and developing appropriate internal communication channels that effectively enable both top-down and bottom-up style (produce monthly communication report for staff, input to PR planner, staff brief, intranet articles).
13. Advising the Deputy Principal on any potential issues around internal and external communication.
14. Evaluation of project communication and marketing plans.
15. Line management responsibilities.
16. Ensuring that the team’s budget is managed in line with current guidance through the maintenance of the financial model.
17. Engage with stakeholders including Tourism Ireland, Tourism NI, Councils, National Trust, and similar organisations to develop relations and encourage collaborative working. Aiming to increase awareness of NI Heritage and tourism to sites.
Essential Criteria:
18. At least 2 years’ post-qualification practical professional experience gained within the last 5 years working in a marketing/communications environment.
Desirable:
19. A third level qualification in marketing. (A third level qualification is defined as post A-level.)
