Java Engineers - Multiple Contract Roles (Inside IR35) - Remote First
We are supporting a large-scale digital transformation programme within a major UK public-sector environment and have multiple Java engineering roles available across all levels, including:
1. Lead Java Developer
2. Java Developer
3. Full Stack Engineer
4. Junior Java Developer
Contract Overview
5. Day Rate: £445-£510 per day (Inside IR35)
6. Duration: Until September 2026 minimum (potential to Jan 2027)
7. Location: Remote-first, occasional on-site in Manchester or Newcastle (up to 2 days/week)

9. 5 Years UK Residency
10. Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship)
What You'll Be Working On
You'll join a multi-disciplinary engineering function delivering modern, secure, scalable services used by millions across the UK. The work involves greenfield builds, legacy modernisation, API development and microservices at enterprise scale.
Core Technical Skills
11. Strong experience with Java
12. Frameworks: Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate, Struts, JSF
13. Microservices, APIs, and distributed systems
14. Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes
15. Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI
16. Agile ways of working
17. Public-sector experience advantageous but not essential
