The NBT Immunology and Allergy Service is the sole commissioned provider of adult Immunology and Allergy services for the northern half of the South‑West. The service continues to grow in both scope and complexity, with increasing patient numbers and planned expansion to allergy testing, drug and food desensitisation programmes, biologic therapies and specialist urticaria clinics, presenting opportunities for pharmacy leadership and service innovation.

The Service is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and holds Improving Quality in Allergy Services (IQAS) and Quality in Primary Immunodeficiency Services (QPIDS) accreditations.

Current Services Include

* Allergy testing and desensitisation programmes
* Urticaria clinics
* Management of primary and secondary immunodeficiencies
* Hereditary angioedema services
* NBT hosts the North of the South‑West Sub‑Regional Immunoglobulin Assessment Panel (SRIAP) and is the largest user of immunoglobulin in this region.

Core Responsibilities

* Represent NBT on the SRIAP, contribute to its strategic development and ensure delivery against agreed objectives and key performance indicators.
* Line management of the Band 5 SRIAP Data Performance Manager/Panel Co‑ordinator.
* Lead the pharmacy team to ensure the continued delivery of a safe, effective and financially sustainable immunoglobulin service, including oversight of governance and commissioning requirements, leadership of established home delivery services for immunoglobulin and hereditary angioedema therapies, financial and contractual oversight of high‑cost medicines and homecare arrangements, and training and mentoring of rotational Band 7 pharmacists and Band 5 pharmacy technicians.
* Provide senior oversight and leadership of NBT Pharmacy provision to the North of the South‑West Sub Regional Immunoglobulin Assessment Panel (SRIAP).
* Work as a highly specialised practitioner to deliver the clinical pharmacy aspects of the immunoglobulin and immunology services.
* Work across boundaries to contribute to the development of immunology home therapies services across the regional footprint served by NBT, demonstrating a whole‑system patient‑focused approach.
* Attend multi‑disciplinary team meetings and provide expert advice in pharmaceutical aspects of patient care.
* Support the education and training of junior pharmacists and other healthcare professionals, relating to aspects of clinical pharmacy and the use of immunoglobulins.
* Practice as an Independent Prescriber (desirable).

Person Specification

We are seeking a pharmacist with a breadth and depth of clinical experience. Experience in immunoglobulin and/or immunology is desirable but not essential. Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of NHS financial frameworks, high‑cost drug commissioning, contractual management and homecare systems.
