Purchasing & Stock Controller – Gloucestershire

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company based in Gloucestershire, is seeking an experienced Purchasing and Stock Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take responsibility for procurement, inventory management, and stock control within a busy manufacturing environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage the purchase of materials, maintain accurate stock levels, and work closely with production and suppliers to ensure efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage purchasing of materials and components in line with production requirements
Monitor and control stock levels to prevent shortages or excess
Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues
Maintain accurate records of stock and purchasing transactions
Support the production team with inventory planning and reporting
Ensure compliance with company procedures and health and safety standards
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in purchasing and stock/inventory control, ideally within manufacturing
Strong organisational and analytical skills
Proficient in Excel and stock management systems
Good communication and negotiation skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
