Quantity Surveyor – Civil (Experience Only)
Salary: £45,000-£55,000 plus electric car or car allowance.
Location: Lenham, Kent.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their high-performing commercial team, working on water and infrastructure engineering projects across Kent.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to Capital and Operational Expenditure (CAPEX/OPEX) budgets and develop an understanding of Total Expenditure (TOTEX) and its increasing importance in the utilities sector.
You will play a key role in ensuring the commercial success of major infrastructure projects, enabling investment in innovative technologies and helping to deliver sustainable, carbon‑positive solutions that benefit future communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Generate weekly revenue and cost reports.
* Manage submissions of daily completed jobs.
* Produce and maintain Schedule of Rates documentation.
* Reconcile subcontractor costs and prepare payment certificates.
* Liaise with operations and planning teams to monitor progress and scope changes.
* Review project performance to ensure targets are met.
* Price completed works for high-volume, low-value projects.
* Develop strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
* Analyse weekly and monthly cost and revenue data.
About You
You are an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in utilities, civil, or mechanical engineering, ideally within the water industry.
You will have experience managing high-volume, low-value works, a good understanding of NEC contracts, and confidence in subcontractor management.
You are proactive, solutions-focused, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills are essential.
Requirements
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
* Strong attention to detail and financial accuracy.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC/HND in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (with commercial management experience).
