We’re seeking a CAD Design Technician Apprentice to join the team at our Head Office and main manufacturing facility in Brandon, Suffolk.

Main Purpose of Job
This apprenticeship opportunity is ideal for someone eager to start their career in computer-aided design (CAD) and learn hands-on skills in the field. As an Apprentice CAD Technician, you will work closely with experienced CAD professionals to assist in creating detailed technical drawings and designs for a range of projects. You will be working towards Engineering Design Technician level 3 ST0164 qualification and 20% of your time will be dedicated to training via a mixture of external and internal training.
Areas of Support
* Assist in creating 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical specifications.
* Work with senior CAD technicians and engineers to develop design concepts and modifications.
* Review project requirements and assist in ensuring designs meet both technical and client specifications.
* Use CAD software to update existing designs and create new layouts.
* Ensure designs are accurate and comply with industry standards and regulations.
* Maintain organised files of completed projects and drawings.
* Assist in preparing presentations or design reviews for clients or internal teams.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from senior staff.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen interest in design and engineering.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Enthusiasm for learning new software, techniques, and industry practices.
