JDR Recruitment are recruiting for experienced Food Production Operatives in Middleton, M24.
Candidates must have experience working within a food production environment.
Job Purpose
To contribute to the efficient, safe, and high‑quality production of food products by operating machinery, following strict hygiene standards, and maintaining excellent attention to detail. The role requires a solid understanding of food manufacturing processes and compliance with food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Processing
* Operate production line machinery safely and efficiently.
* Follow recipes, batch sheets, and production instructions accurately.
* Monitor product quality throughout production and adjust processes where needed.
* Handle raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials correctly.
* Assist with setup, changeovers, and shutdown of production lines.
Quality & Compliance
* Follow all food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP, and allergen controls.
* Conduct basic quality checks (temperature, weight, visual inspections).
* Ensure traceability by completing paperwork accurately and promptly.
* Identify and report any quality issues or equipment faults immediately.
Health, Safety & Hygiene
* Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures.
* Maintain a clean and hygienic work area in line with BRC and industry standards.
* Wear correct PPE at all times.
* Comply with safe handling procedures for chemicals and equipment.
Teamwork & Communication
* Work collaboratively to meet production targets and deadlines.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and quality teams.
* Support new staff or temporary staff with training and guidance when required.

* Ability to follow instructions and work to strict procedures.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential
* Previous experience in a food manufacturing, production, or factory environment.
* Understanding of food hygiene and safety requirements.
* Experience operating production or packing machinery.
Desirable
* Food Safety Level 2 (or willingness to obtain).
* HACCP awareness.
* Experience within a BRC‑approved facility.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand for long periods.
* Comfortable with repetitive tasks and working in chilled or temperature‑controlled environments.
* Ability to lift and handle materials within safe manual handling limits.
Shifts: Monday to Thursday 8am‑5pm, Friday 8am‑2pm. Pay £12.71 per hour. Temporary to Permanent. JDRNorthWest.
