On behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs we are looking for a Test Manager for a 12 Month contract based inn Derby (3 days per week on-site).
The Role & Responsibilities:
The Test Manager will be responsible for end-to-end test management across the three enterprise systems, ensuring they are fully tested, secure, and fit for business use prior to go-live.
This is a hands-on Test Manager role, requiring both strategic coordination and detailed test execution. The role will operate within a matrix-managed environment, working with a wide range of internal stakeholders, vendors, systems integrators, and third-party testing providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and manage the overall testing strategy across multiple enterprise systems (SaaS and on-prem).
Operate effectively in a matrix management model, influencing without direct authority.
Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of testing, including: System Integration Testing (SIT)
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Regression testing
Performance and non-functional testing (as required)
Coordinate third-party penetration testing, including planning, execution, defect management, and remediation tracking.
Develop, review, and maintain: Test plans
Test scripts
Test scenarios
Test reports and dashboards
Manage test execution cycles, defect triage, prioritisation, and resolution tracking.
Work closely with: Business planners and supply chain teams
IT delivery teams
External vendors and systems integrators
Information Assurance and security teams
Key Accountabilities, Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a Test Manager on large, complex enterprise system implementations.
Strong experience coordinating UAT with business users.
Hands-on experience creating and managing test plans, scripts, and execution cycles.
Experience working with third-party testing providers, including penetration testing.
Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
Experience working in matrix-managed and multi-vendor environments.
Excellent communication, organisation, and reporting skills.
Desirable:
Experience with supply chain, planning, ERP, or advanced planning & scheduling (APS) systems.
Experience testing SaaS and on-premise systems within the same programme.
Knowledge of aviation, manufacturing, or asset-heavy industries.
Familiarity with Information Assurance or security testing processes.
