Head of Sales

This key role will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and successful execution of our sales operations, driving revenue growth, and leading a high-performing sales team. The Head of Sales will collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure the growth of 21CC Group, positioning our services as industry leaders. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales leader with a strong background in venue knowledge within the Scottish events sector, business development, client management, and team leadership.

Role Overview:
As the Head of Sales, you will oversee the full sales process and client relationship team, leading a team of sales professionals to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, venues, and external partners to position 21CC Group as a leader in the event industry. This role requires a strategic leader with a passion for sales, client management, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Strategy:
* Take ownership of all major sales operations, providing strategic leadership throughout the sales process.
* Develop and implement sales strategies, ensuring alignment with the overall goals of 21CC Group and client expectations.
* Ensure the sales team has clear objectives and provide leadership to guide the team toward achieving sales targets.
Client Relations & Stakeholder Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as the senior point of contact for sales-related inquiries and projects.
* Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, vision, and goals, translating them into actionable sales strategies and proposals
* Manage client expectations throughout the sales cycle, ensuring clear communication, addressing concerns, and resolving issues as they arise.
Sales Planning & Execution:
* Oversee the planning and execution of sales activities, from initial lead generation to final contract closure.
* Develop comprehensive sales plans, tracking progress and ensuring all milestones are met on time and within budget.
* Lead the development and approval of sales proposals, ensuring they meet client needs and company goals.
Team Leadership & Development:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales and client relationship team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
* Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their sales skills and capabilities.
* Cultivate a positive, results-driven culture within the sales and client relationship team, empowering them to succeed and deliver exceptional client experiences.
Tender Management & RFQ Responses:
* Draft and oversee the preparation of responses to Requests for Quotes (RFQs), tenders, and other competitive bidding opportunities.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including project management, finance, and creative departments, to develop compelling, client-focused proposals that align with the company’s capabilities and objectives.
* Ensure that all RFQ and tender responses are submitted in a timely manner, meeting all client requirements and specifications.
* Work closely with the legal and commercial teams to ensure that all terms and conditions are clearly defined and favourable to the company.
* Review and analyse client specifications and requirements, developing strategies to position 21CC Group as the preferred vendor.
Sales Risk Management & Problem-Solving:
* Identify and mitigate sales risks, including competitive threats, market fluctuations, and client-related challenges.
* Resolve sales-related issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to sales targets and client relationships.
Customer Insights & Feedback:
* Gather and analyse customer feedback to inform sales strategies, service improvements, and operational adjustments.
* Lead initiatives to measure customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty, ensuring feedback loops are established to drive improvements in the sales process and customer experience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
* Work closely with the senior leadership team to align sales objectives with broader company goals.
* Collaborate with marketing, technical, operations, and production teams to ensure customer expectations are consistently met, and sales processes and proposals are aligned with customer needs, expectations and market trends.
Performance & Reporting:
* Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the sales team in driving customer satisfaction, retention, and growth.
* Regularly review sales performance and customer feedback to make data-driven decisions that optimise the sales process and enhance client relationships.
Process Improvement & Quality Management:
* Work closely with internal teams to ensure the continuous improvement of sales processes, and materials, utilising insights from client interactions and feedback to enhance sales strategies.
* Implement best practices and optimise sales methodologies to ensure a high level of client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Your Expertise:
* Extensive experience (10+ years) in sales and leadership, with a proven track record of successfully leading and growing competent sales teams.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing sales teams.
* Exceptional client management and communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships at all levels and ensure client satisfaction.
* Strong financial acumen, with experience managing sales budgets and ensuring profitability.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage high-pressure situations.
* A full UK driving license is essential.

Salary:
£40k - £50k pending event sales experience, and seniority. Annual salary reviews following a successful 6-month probation period.
