Are you passionate about keeping buildings running smoothly and safely? Dorset Council is seeking a proactive and reliable Facilities Officer to support the day-to-day operations of our diverse estate. You'll play a key role in ensuring our buildings are secure, compliant, and welcoming for staff and visitors alike.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Facilities Officer, you'll be at the heart of our operational estate, helping to ensure our buildings are safe, functional, and well-maintained. Your day-today duties will include:
* Undertaking statutory compliance checks (water hygiene, fire safety, emergency lighting).
* Assisting with Health and Safety inspections.
* Assisting with building security, including opening/closing duties and be part of a standby rota for emergency call-outs.
* Supporting fire safety procedures, including alarm tests and evacuation drills.
* Supporting the management of the ID access badge and other secure access systems.
* Assist with incoming and outgoing mail.
* Supporting office moves and relocations.
* Act as a designated first aider (training provided).

You're a dependable and hands-on individual who takes pride in maintaining safe and efficient environments. You enjoy practical work, are comfortable working independently, and can respond calmly to urgent situations. You'll bring:
