Overview
Job title: Day Critical Engineer at CBRE Data Centre Solutions (DCS) in Farnborough, United Kingdom.
Responsibilities
* Maintain domestic and processed water systems across campus.
* Carry out planned maintenance tasks on all water systems to ensure compliance, including weekly tap flushing, monthly tap temperatures, Air Optimiser cleans and inspections, reverse osmosis inspections, and CWST inspections.
* Respond to critical water services breakdowns in a timely manner (reactive and corrective tasks on all water-related equipment).
* Ensure records are accurate and up to date, including critical spares stores.
* Be willing to work in all weather conditions.
* Carry out some sewage works (e.g., blocked drains).
* Liaise with Client representatives regarding maintenance and repairs.
* Undertake site surveys and produce works requests, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments for planned works.
* Responsible for statutory inspections of water systems and Health & Safety items.
* Utilise PDA to complete works, key communications, and updates.
* Undertake minor works projects and ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations and ACoP L8.
* Undertake any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Data Centre Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Point of contact for water systems on site.
* Undertake monthly water systems statutory inspections as per CMMS.
* Undertake monthly site stores stock take of Critical/Non-Critical Spares.
* Assist with subcontractor hosting.
* Liaise with DC Manager on PPM scheduling and alignment; assist with review and submission of Annual PPM Planners.
* Maintain site Logbooks with statutory compliance records.
* Follow health and safety legislation and report shortfalls.
* Communicate professionally with Client representatives, contractors, and customers.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and present a professional image of the company.
* Carry out other duties deemed reasonable by the line manager.
Skills, Knowledge And Experience
* Previous plumbing experience.
* Ability to coordinate and manage multiple works end-to-end across a diverse and complex site.
* Proven track record in developing positive contractor/client relations and communications.
* Work within agreed systems and processes and maintain accurate records.
* Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are adhered to; perform Dynamic Risk Assessments when required.
* City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in plumbing; current UK driving licence; PC literate.
* Good customer relationship skills; ability to interpret technical drawings/instructions/processes; organize self to manage tasks and materials.
* Experience of H&S procedures (COSHH, Working at Heights, Risk Assessments, etc.).
* Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH and/or NEBOSH).
* Willing to work beyond contractual hours.
