We are currently supporting a large NHS service provider in the appointment of a senior contracts professional, who will be responsible for ensuring the organisation meets its statutory, regulatory, governance, commercial and contractual obligations, whilst continuing to provide effective, safe, high-quality service provision.
This individual will lead on strategy, business planning and the commercial management of existing contracts and their related performance. Providing high level contractual and commercial expertise and support to the organisation with a particular focus on sustaining and improving on the performance management of a key contract held with a local NHS Trust.
They will ensure that any contractual arrangements operate within good practice contracting guidelines, whilst maximising benefits and minimising risk to the organisation.
A member of the senior leadership team and will be expected to demonstrate the ability to develop effective, productive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders that will ensure the delivery of the organisation’s strategic objectives.
Person specification:
* Have solid and demonstrable contracting experience at a senior level ideally within the NHS, or wider public sector environment;
* Possess strong relationship building and communication skills;
* Well‐developed negotiation skills, together with the ability to tackle poor performance effectively;
* The ability to think and act strategically and to articulate a clear sense of direction and vision to a wide audience;
* Have excellent analytical skills and the ability to review complex contracts and to analyse complex and potentially sensitive and contentious data;
* Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines.
