Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Carlisle. The Job Title will support construction projects from planning through completion, working closely with site teams, supervisors, and management to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to specification. Day‑to‑day tasks may include coordinating resources and materials, monitoring progress on site, documenting work, and communicating with internal stakeholders and subcontractors. The role may also involve assisting with quality checks, health and safety compliance, and problem‑solving around site logistics or schedules. The Job Title will contribute to maintaining a professional, collaborative work environment and representing Wannop’s commitment to quality and reliability on every project.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated experience in construction, civil engineering, groundworks, or a closely related field, ideally on commercial or residential projects.
* Practical understanding of site operations, such as excavation, drainage, concrete works, or general building activities.
* Familiarity with health and safety practices on construction sites and a commitment to following relevant regulations and company procedures.
* Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to coordinate tasks, handle changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
* Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work respectfully with colleagues, subcontractors, and clients.
* Comfort using basic digital tools (e.g., email, documentation software, mobile apps) for reporting, scheduling, and communication.
* Ability to work on site in varying weather conditions and perform the physical aspects of the role safely.
* Relevant vocational training or qualifications in construction, engineering, or a related discipline are beneficial; a valid CSCS card or equivalent certification is an advantage.
* Full, valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the Carlisle site and surrounding project locations, as required.
