This exciting opportunity is for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work within our Therapy and Discharge Service team, covering all acute assessment areas aligned with our Emergency Care department.
The team includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, and Discharge Managers, who are vital in assessing and planning therapy needs and discharge arrangements for patients admitted through our busy Accident and Emergency department.
We collaborate closely with colleagues at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, and the TADS team is jointly managed alongside the Frailty Therapy Service.

The team assesses patients admitted to the Accident and Emergency Department at William Harvey Hospital. The post holder will provide comprehensive assessment and treatment, working as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective therapy and discharge planning.
Main Duties Include:
1. Managing a clinical caseload, assessing, formulating, and treating patients, and providing specialized therapy advice to the MDT.
2. Deputising for the Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues.
3. Participating in training activities supporting new graduate Occupational Therapists, student therapists, apprentices, and support workers, alongside other senior team members.
