JOB DESCRIPTION - Service Engineer
RMGroup specialise in the supply of process and packaging machinery to various industries around the UK and Internationally. We are continually looking for aspiring individuals to join our dynamic team.
We are currently seeking a field service engineer with relevant experience and knowledge for the role. The candidate will be home based, but will be expected to travel all over the UK with opportunities to work internationally also.
Successful Candidates will be responsible for:
• Attending customer sites to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to packaging machinery, pallet/product handling conveyors and Robotic systems - primarily ABB/Fanuc.
• Responding to emergency breakdowns and returning customers back to production by means of fault finding and carrying out repairs to packaging machinery.
• Compiling worksheets detailing elements of service/repair works carried out on site, including information of parts and consumable used, plus future recommendations for improvement.
• Ensuring all service and repair work is carried out in accordance with RMGroup and customer’s health, safety and environmental guidelines.
• Responsible for own Health and Safety, conducting task related Risk Assessments and safe system of work as necessary.
Desired Qualifications, Skills and attributes:
• Knowledge and experience of maintaining and programming ABB Robotics, including IRC5 & S4C Controllers. Knowledge of other robotics systems also.
• Previous experience of working on single and three phase supply, invertors, sensors and control systems. PLC programming knowledge desirable.
• Mechanical experience of maintaining hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, bearings.
• Knowledge and experience of packaging machinery, including form, fill and seal, weighing systems.
• Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain customer relationships in order to maintain a high level of customer service.
• Full UK driving licence
RMGroup supply and install machinery in and around the UK, Ireland and worldwide, therefore candidates will be expected to work away. Applicants must be flexible and adaptable to changing work schedules.
Hours: +45 Hours, Monday-Friday.
Holidays: 24 Days + Bank Holidays, Increased over long service.
Salary: Based on experience, competitive salary.
