Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
Overview
How would you like to get paid for five days, but only work four? Outcomes First Group offers a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours) while still receiving full-time pay. This may already be in place at some schools or rolled out as staffing allows.
As part of our continued growth, we are recruiting an SEN Teacher to join our team at Acorn Park School in Norwich.
About the role
To develop the academic capabilities, social and communication skills, and to focus on successful and purposeful learning. To lead the class team by example and direction, ensuring the highest quality of education and care for every pupil.
Main responsibilities
* To develop and implement schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the requirements of the Formal or Semi-Formal Curriculum Pathway.
* To ensure adequate planning to deliver high-quality lessons.
* To organise the learning environment and develop resources to maximise the learning process.
* To establish positive relationships with pupils and professional relationships with parents/carers.
* To use assessment tools effectively and record pupil progress according to school deadlines.
* To foster enthusiasm for learning and challenge pupils to reach their full potential.
* To share responsibility for pupil wellbeing, safety and behaviour management in line with school policies.
* To work collaboratively with colleagues and in partnership with all stakeholders.
* To meet EHCP needs of pupils and develop knowledge of teaching pupils with ASD in line with best practice.
* To keep accurate records and maintain good communication with stakeholders.
* To maintain a healthy work/life balance.
Qualifications
* GCSE C/4 English and Maths
* UK QTS/ QTLS or working towards
About Us
Acorn Park is a school for 160 pupils, all with a primary diagnosis of Autism. We run two curriculum pathways – Formal and Semi-formal. Pupils with complex needs are on the Semi-Formal Pathway, highly personalised from their EHCP. We have Day and Residential pupils with eight co-located homes on a 30-acre site in rural Norfolk. On site, we also have a Forest School, an Animal Care Farm, play facilities, a sports hall and sensory rooms.
Options Autism has provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties for over 16 years. As part of Outcomes First Group, we lead the sector in setting and delivering new approaches with measurable outcomes.
