The Cambridge Breast Unit at the world renown Addenbrooke’s (Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) is recruiting.
There is the opportunity to further your career in leadership and management undertaking a 12 month secondment at a Band 8a level as the Superintendent of Breast Imaging service. You will take a leading role in planning and providing a high standard of care to all patients and will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Cambridge Breast Unit. You will need to be motivated, passionate, and be able to work as part of a team with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will need to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and concentrate on tasks in a busy environment.
Main duties of the job
This role will support the delivery of a high-quality breast imaging service across both screening and symptomatic pathways. You will provide operational and managerial leadership to the Cambridge and Huntingdon Breast Screening Programme and imaging clinical teams, ensuring effective and high-quality services in line with National Standards.
They will work with the Programme Manager, Director of Screening and Imaging Operational Managers to ensure effective delivery of the Screening Programme,, taking responsibility for clinical effectiveness, radiation protection and equipment.
You will work within the standards of conduct, performance and ethics as defined by the Health and Care Professions Council.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
BSc Hons Radiography/Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent
Certificate of competence in Mammography/Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography practice
HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
Experience of clinical audit
Qualifications at Masters Level
Post graduate management qualification
Leadership or management qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
•Significant experience of working at a senior level as a Mammographer
•Thorough knowledge of IR(ME)R
•Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team with effective utilisation of resources
•Experience of PACS/RIS systems and other data management systems
•Understanding of evidence based practice
•Ability to communicate well at all levels
•Ability to work independently and use initiative

Experience of managing budgets

Involvement of QSI accreditation
Formal management training
