Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership to the Hazardous Waste team on the day-to-day activities of the regime. This work aligns with regulatory reform efforts and will likely involve helping the team transition the regime from reform to ‘business as usual’.
The role duties and responsibilities include:
* Waste classification technical leadership
* Technical leadership for Hazardous Waste compliance and initiatives to improve compliance
* Enhanced leadership of priority waste streams
* Providing technical support focused on priority waste streams, driven by area and national teams
* Tackling regulatory challenges, securing long-term improvements, and supporting Defra with circular economy work on Hazardous Waste
* Enforcement focus to support actions in the control strategy aimed at reducing offending
The team
The Environment & Business (E&B) Hazardous Waste team is a small, high-performing team within the Regime Regulation team of E&B Waste Regulation. We lead the business on hazardous waste, supporting government, industry, and colleagues to ensure proper management.

You’ll have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan. Appropriate training will be provided. The role is flexible/hybrid with an EA Office base.
