Purpose of the Role

GameChanger is our inclusive social gaming programme for autistic people and adults with learning disabilities across Somerset. GameChanger is about connection, confidence, and joy. We use modern and retro gaming to create welcoming spaces where people feel safe, included, and valued.

The Accessibility & Inclusion Worker will play a central role in making GameChanger sessions fully accessible and inclusive for adult autistic people and adults with learning disabilities.


Role Description

This is a part‑time, on‑site role located in Somerset, UK, for an Accessibility & Inclusion Worker Monday to Thursday. The primary responsibilities include planning and facilitating inclusive community programs, supporting individuals to overcome barriers to participation, and working closely with diverse community members to promote social integration. The role also involves identifying the needs of underserved groups, providing tailored support, and assisting in the development of initiatives that encourage accessibility and inclusion. Collaboration with stakeholders to advocate for equitable practices and delivering ongoing reports and evaluations are key aspects of the position. Driving volunteers between gaming hubs and a knowledge and enthusiasm for gaming is essential.


Requirements

* Understanding of inclusion, accessibility, and person‑centred support.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* This role involves regular physical activity, including setting up and packing away gaming equipment (reasonable adjustments will be considered).
* Willingness to travel, car owner with business insurance and can travel across Somerset.
* Outgoing, ability to connect with people and understand strong boundaries.
* Comfortable contributing to positive project communications and social media content, in line with organisational guidance.
* Willingness to undertake relevant training.
* Monday to Thursday availability, no evenings or weekends required.
