Here at Kiddies Cabin in Maidenhead we are looking for an energetic Nursery Trainee Assistant to join our team on a fulltime basis.
We are a team of hard‑working professionals ranging from Nursery Trainees to Degree Level practitioners and we are looking for likeminded individuals who are passionate about providing a stimulating, friendly and caring environment for the children in our care.
As a Trainee Nursery Assistant, you will support a group of children whom you will provide daily care and activities as well as assisting in the completion of developmental reviews. We offer care and education for children from 6 months old up until they start school in Reception.
You will be expected to maintain the standards of care and learning opportunities for the children in a safe and stimulating environment, supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Fulltime position working 37.5 hours, 51 weeks per year, from 7.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
* Provide the best possible care and stimulation for the children, meeting their physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs in a non‑discriminatory manner.
* Work in partnership with parents and encourage their involvement in the aims of the nursery and in all aspects of their child’s care.
* Provide and maintain records as necessary and appropriate, in line with the EYFS Statutory Framework.
* Attend training courses to ensure that modern, innovative and forward‑looking practices are maintained and to allow for personal career development.
* Assist in the daily domestic management of the nursery; ensuring that the nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times.
* Work effectively as part of a team on a daily basis.
* Participate fully in the daily routine of the individual rooms and follow the guidance and instructions of the senior staff.
* Compile and maintain regular progress developmental records on key children, making sure that records are accurate, signed and dated.
* Develop good working relationships with parents and encourage parental interest and participation in the life of the nursery.
* Monitor, develop and maintain your own professional and personal learning needs.
* Work towards achieving an NVQ level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Basic understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
* Basic knowledge of safeguarding children and child protection.
* 12‑hour paediatric first aid training (desirable).
