Milk Education is working with a number of secondary schools across Leeds and Wakefield looking for enthusiastic and reliable Science Cover Teachers and Cover Supervisors to support Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons.
These roles are perfect for individuals who are passionate about science and want flexible, rewarding work in schools — whether you’re a qualified teacher, an ECT, a science graduate, or an experienced cover supervisor with an interest in STEM.
About the Role
You’ll be stepping into science classrooms to ensure students continue learning in the teacher’s absence. Work will usually be pre-set, and your role will be to guide, support, and keep lessons running smoothly.
You may be asked to:
1. Deliver pre-planned Biology, Chemistry, or Physics lessons
2. Support students with practical experiments, theory, and investigative tasks
3. Encourage curiosity, engagement, and participation in science learning
4. Maintain a safe and focused classroom environment
5. Provide feedback to the department following lessons
Assignments can range from day-to-day cover to longer-term placements in schools throughout Leeds and Wakefield, depending on your availability and preference.
Who We’re Looking For
We would love to hear from:
Qualified Science Teachers (QTS/QTLS)
Early Career Teachers looking to gain experience
Science graduates (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related degrees)
Experienced Cover Supervisors with strong science knowledge
Native or fluent speakers in English with classroom or tutoring experience
A specialism in Biology or Chemistry is particularly in demand, but all science specialisms are welcome.
