A respected and fast-growing independent property consultancy is seeking an ambitious Senior Town Planner to take a leading role within their dynamic, multidisciplinary team. The Role:
As Senior Town Planner, you will lead and deliver complex planning projects, guide junior team members, and play a key role in developing client relationships and generating new business. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team of chartered surveyors and agri-business consultants, tackling a diverse range of rural, residential, and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead all aspects of strategic and site-specific planning projects
* Deliver planning advice across land promotion, local plan submissions, and development strategy
* Prepare and submit planning applications and pre-application submissions
* Manage consultant teams and oversee project execution
* Advise on change of use, diversification, and rural development opportunities
* Prepare and manage planning appeals, including written reps and hearings
* Support business development and client acquisition efforts
Candidate Profile:
Required:
* Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience in town planning
* Strong working knowledge of planning policy, applications, and appeals
* Excellent project management and communication skills
* Able to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines
* Commercially aware with a client-first approach
* RTPI accreditation (desirable but not essential with equivalent experience)
