Our team in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are recruiting for a Recovery Worker, to join them in providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse service user group. If you are enthusiastic, creative, and passionate about making a positive impact, we’d love to hear from you. We are a dynamic, supportive, and caring service for people in the BCP area, offering a range of services focused on harm reduction and recovery empowerment.
As a leading charity supporting individuals with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, supporting over 100,000 people annually. Find out more about us here.
Our Bournemouth SPOC (Single Point of Contact) Service offers free, confidential support to individuals dealing with alcohol and substance use. Responsibilities include assessments, caseload management, care planning, risk management, and supporting clients to achieve their personalized goals. We provide harm minimization interventions within our needle exchange and psychosocial interventions through workshops, including preparation and aftercare planning for detoxification and rehabilitation referrals.
Recovery Workers collaborate with service users to identify their goals, develop treatment plans, and support their recovery journey. This frontline role involves delivering continuity of care through effective partnership working, intervention delivery, and key work responsibilities. You will manage an active caseload, building respectful and dignified relationships with clients, helping them to define and pursue their ambitions.
The position is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work. The salary ranges from £23,821 to £25,000 per annum.
We seek compassionate, motivated individuals with experience in health, social care, criminal justice, or related fields, preferably with substance misuse experience. Candidates should be highly organized, excellent communicators, and able to work effectively within a team. Knowledge of assessment, care planning, key working, substance misuse issues, rehabilitation, and solution-focused brief therapy or motivational interviewing is desirable.
Above all, we value passionate individuals with a positive, engaging approach to service users and stakeholders.
This evolving service makes a real difference. If you believe you have the passion to join our team, please contact us or apply below. We will provide training and support for your development.
Note: A driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
