Location: Hatfield, AL10
Salary: £30,000 £35,000 per year (Depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Important: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and a full clean driving licence
About the Role:
We are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the running of a childrens residential home. You will work closely with the Home Manager to provide high-quality care, safeguarding, and support to young people, while assisting and mentoring the care team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Home Manager in day-to-day running of the home, including rota planning, shift leading, and professional audits.
* Build positive, supportive relationships with young people and act as a role model.
* Ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed and updated appropriately.
* Supervise, mentor, and develop staff, providing guidance and support.
* Attend professional meetings and liaise with external professionals as required.
* Deputise for the Home Manager when necessary, including out-of-hours on-call duties. xsngvjr
* Contribute to safeguarding and maintaining high standards of care and equality.
Essential Requirements:
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Full clean driving licence
* Experience working in residential care and managing a team
* Knowledge of childcare legislation and OFSTED standards
* Ability to communicate effectively with young people and staff
* Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
* Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare principles
Desirable:
* Experience in juvenile justice settings
* Understanding of managing challenging behaviour
