The Role: Quality Engineer
You will start working in the Quality Assurance Department as part of the team managing and developing the quality management systems under the guidance of the Quality Manager.
The role involves activities related to all LMT production units, including Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA), Non-Conformance Management/concessions, product release to specifications, maintaining calibration tools, and Internal Auditing.
You will complete or assign actions and ensure documentation is up to date as directed by the Quality Manager.
Good working knowledge of product release or Quality Management in SAP or similar ERP system is required.
Beneficial skills include knowledge of inspection plans, control plans, and FMEA methodologies.
Preferably, you will have Internal Auditor experience in ISO9001:2015, IATF16949:2016, ISO13485:2015, or EN91000 REV D, and experience in QA Departments.
Experience in reviewing engineering drawings and knowledge of metal machining techniques are highly desirable.
Additional tasks may include maintaining QMS document libraries and working closely with the Operations department.
You may also perform or support audits, ensuring external supplier compliance, with activities tracked in the CAPA database and responsible for their timely close-out.
Daily activities include managing databases, generating reports, and data entry into Microsoft packages.
Main responsibilities:
* Work safely and comply with all HSE requirements.
* Collaborate with Quality, Compliance, and Materials QC Departments.
* Complete activities related to SAP QM, CAPA, Internal Audits, NCP/concessions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Conduct internal and external supplier audits.
* Work with the company's intranet and SharePoint systems.
* Liaise with Quality Managers and third parties regarding quality issues.
* Coordinate with other departments on quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Perform other duties as assigned within your competence.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Diploma in Engineering, Operations, Material Science, Chemistry, or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Experience in a QMS environment, preferably ISO 9001.
* Knowledge of QA tools and MS Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
* Experience in industrial or manufacturing settings utilizing QA tools and CAPA methodologies.
This is a permanent position based at our site in Swinton, Greater Manchester, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to meet business needs. The role requires excellent teamwork, accountability, and influencing skills across departments.
