Rotherham's Leaving Care Service is looking for a Personal Advisor to join our busy Leaving Care team. We work with young people aged 16 – 25 to support and guide young people into adulthood.
We work with professionals across a range of agencies to make sure our young people receive all they need to get ready for adulthood. We are guided in our work by the Children (Leaving Care Act) 2000 and Children Act 1989.
We are looking for someone who enjoys the challenge of thinking outside the box to support our young people achieve their goals and be the best they can.
We are looking for someone who is skilled in building trusting relationships with young people.
We are looking for someone with a passion and commitment for young people and who understands and can help overcome the barriers faced by young people who are care leavers/care experienced.
We are looking for someone who enjoys helping young people develop their practical skills such as budgeting, managing a tenancy and engaging in education or training.
We are looking for someone who can show young people we care that we believe in them and which allows our young people to see that anything is possible.

Until 31st March 2026 existing employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for part-time). The Council is in consultation with trade unions regarding continuation of any agreement from 1st April 2026.
