Building Standards Surveyor (Short‑Term Contract - Part Time or Full Time options available) Location:Just outside Edinburgh City CentreContract Duration: 4-6 weeks approx. Employer: Local Council We are seeking an experienced Building Standards Surveyor to support our team on a short-term basis. This role will focus on clearing a backlog of small works and assessing domestic planning applications, ensuring all submissions meet statutory building standards and compliance requirements. What You'll Do Assess and process domestic planning and building warrant applications Review small‑scale works for compliance with relevant building regulations Liaise with applicants, agents, and internal teams to progress outstanding cases Provide clear, accurate technical advice and maintain high service standards About You Proven experience in building standards, surveying, or a related field Strong understanding of Scottish Building Regulations Able to work efficiently and independently to manage a time‑sensitive workload Excellent communication and decision‑making skills This is a great opportunity to support a busy local authority team and make an immediate impact.
