 
        
        Part-Time Senior Bookkeeper – Liverpool
About the role:
We’re looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to provide hands-on financial support to growing SME clients in Liverpool. As a Senior Bookkeeper with us, you’ll play a key role in helping small businesses manage their day-to-day finances, from maintaining accurate ledgers and reconciling accounts to processing transactions efficiently. You’ll provide business owners and management teams with clear, actionable financial insights, helping them make informed decisions, plan effectively, and drive growth. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with SMEs, applying your expertise to improve financial processes, streamline reporting, and contribute to the overall financial health of each business.
About You:
You are an experienced Bookkeeper with practical exposure to growing SMEs. Ideally, you are self-employed and have at least 2 days per week available to provide flexible, high-quality support.
Your Expertise Should Include:
 * Customer invoicing and sales ledger management
 * Credit control and debtor reporting
 * Supplier invoices and purchase ledger management
 * Drafting payment runs for approval
 * Supplier reconciliations
 * Bank postings and reconciliations
 * Expense and credit card management and reconciliation
 * VAT returns
 * Month-end journals including depreciation, accruals, and prepayments
 * Experience with Xero accounting software (Sage 50 / QuickBooks a plus)
 * Payroll (if necessary)
Role Details:
 * Location: Liverpool (on-site)
 * Hours: Part-time, 2–3 days per week
 * Rate: £22.50 per hour
 * Type: Part-time, self-employed
