Salary: £40,777 - £45,091Location: Council House/Hybrid Working Hours: 37 hours a week Contract Type: Permanent Closing date: 04 May 2026 As a Project Engineer, you’ll take ownership of drainage and flood risk projects from initial investigation through to delivery. You’ll be at the forefront of designing and implementing solutions that safeguard homes, businesses, and transport networks from flooding. Working collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and external partners, you’ll ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards—on time, within budget, and with safety and sustainability at the core. You’ll also contribute to improving how we manage assets and coordinate works across the network. This is a senior role suited to someone who combines strong technical expertise with confident project leadership and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. You’re an experienced and motivated engineer who thrives on delivering impactful infrastructure projects. You bring both technical expertise and strong project management skills, along with a commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement. • Significant experience in drainage and flood risk delivery within highways or infrastructure • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and experience administering standard engineering contracts NEC) • Proven track record of delivering multiple infrastructure projects within programme environments • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, particularly in financial and performance monitoring • Confident communicator, able to translate complex issues for varied audiences Essential Qualifications & Experience • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline • Extensive experience managing drainage projects within a risk-based programme of work • Demonstrable experience in procurement and contract administration Next Steps If you would like to apply for this vacancy, please submit an
