Smart Manufacturing Solutions are recruiting for a Press Brake Operator to join our client’s growing precision steel manufacturing team based in Stockton-on-Tees. In this role, you’ll operate CNC press brake machines to produce high-quality steel components that meet exact engineering standards. You’ll work as part of a skilled fabrication team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy, quality, and safety at every stage of production. While previous experience is preferred, we’re equally interested in motivated individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude who are eager to learn, develop, and build a rewarding career in metal fabrication and CNC machinery operation. Key Responsibilities * Operate CNC press brake machines and related fabrication equipment * Follow engineering drawings and part setup sheets to ensure precision and accuracy * Perform steel fettling, hole tolerance work, and weld repairs as required * Use hand tools such as pin grinders and angle grinders * Complete daily operational documentation, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and pre-operation check sheets * Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to maintain high-quality standards * Ensure all equipment is safe and well-maintained before and during use * Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot basic issues * Perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently * Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines Shifts * Days: Monday–Thursday 6:00am–2:15pm, Friday 6:00am–12:45pm * Backshift (if required): Monday–Thursday 2:15pm–10:30pm, Friday 12:45pm–7:30pm * Nightshift (if required): Sunday 9:30pm–6:00am, Monday–Thursday 10:30pm–6:20am Essential Skills & Experience * Minimum 1 year of experience operating CNC press brakes * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality * Able to work to deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment * Proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach * Willingness to learn and develop new skills
