We have an opportunity based in Maidenhead within the Credit Underwriting and Risk team at a reputable and well-respected organization, offering excellent career development opportunities.
This role is a key position supporting the growing credit underwriting and risk team in a dynamic business environment. You will work closely with finance, sales, external stakeholders, insurance brokers, and customers to maintain credit risk controls within an existing framework and provide a unique service to clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Deliver timely credit decisions within established credit parameters and own underwriting authority, providing commercially balanced recommendations that consider risk and support business and customer needs.
2. Make recommendations with substantiated rationale for deals outside of your personal credit underwriting mandate.
3. Assist with daily credit management and decision-making processes.
4. Collaborate with other business areas to ensure correct lending decisions and fair outcomes for customers.
5. Achieve operational excellence by meeting KPI targets and objectives set by the business.
Experience Required:
* Minimum of 12 months experience in a credit underwriting role, with a highly numerate and motivated approach.
* Proven analytical skills with the ability to document findings and make informed recommendations.
* Strong character to stand by decisions and explain them clearly to less familiar colleagues.
* Ability to think critically about policies and procedures, considering risk implications.
* Comfort with taking calculated risks that lead to favorable outcomes.
