Strategist / Planner
Salary: £75,000 DOE
Hybrid (3 days in office)
We’re working exclusively with a global, social-first marketing agency known for delivering culturally relevant, insight-led campaigns for some of the world’s most ambitious brands. As the agency continues to grow its Creative & Strategy function, they’re now looking for an experienced Strategist / Planner to play a key role across new business and long-term client partnerships.
The Role
Strategy sits at the heart of everything this agency does. In this role, you’ll lead the development of social-first, insight-driven strategies that solve complex brand and business challenges. You’ll work closely with Business Development, Accounts and Creative teams to shape enterprise-level RFPs, pitches and retained client strategies.
You’ll be responsible for defining the “why” behind the work — turning research, data and cultural insight into clear strategic direction, frameworks and narratives that inspire confidence at a senior client level.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead strategic thinking across enterprise-level RFPs, pitches and new business
* Develop compelling strategic narratives, positioning and frameworks
* Conduct deep consumer, cultural, category and competitor research
* Translate insight into clear communication strategies and social-first ecosystems
* Define objectives, KPIs and success metrics to ensure measurable impact
* Develop media plans and campaign architectures for complex retainer engagements
* Partner closely with Business Development on pitch strategy and storytelling
* Provide strategic leadership throughout the creative process
* Ensure strategic excellence and consistency across all deliverables
* Stay ahead of social, digital and influencer effectiveness
* Use tools such as GWI, CreatorIQ and other insight platforms
* Contribute to the evolution of strategic frameworks and best practices
About You
* 4+ years’ experience in a Strategist, Planner or Strategy role
* Agency background preferred (social, influencer or integrated)
* Experience contributing to enterprise-level RFPs and pitches
* Strong understanding of social platforms, influencer marketing and digital ecosystems
* Confident presenting strategy to senior stakeholders
* Commercially minded, with a clear understanding of how strategy drives growth
* Excellent written, verbal and storytelling skills
* Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple workstreams
