About the Role
The Finance Manager will provide accurate and timely financial information to support the strategic decisions of the business. The role requires a proven track record of maintaining effective financial controls and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and company policies. You will work in a hybrid environment with at least one full day in the office each week.
Responsibilities
- Process all financial transactions accurately using the partial exemption VAT basis.
- Prepare accurate, timely management accounts and support the year‑end audit process.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles.
- Maintain effective financial controls and provide constructive feedback to improve internal processes.
- Provide timely financial information to support strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in accounting and processing financial transactions.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and processes.
- Experience with Iplicit (or similar accounts package) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, proactive thinker, problem‑solver with attention to detail.
- Experience leading budgeting and forecasting cycles.
Place of Work
Hybrid working with at least one full day in the office each week. The office is located at Laurie Liddell Clubhouse, 42 Peffermill Road, Edinburgh, EH16 5LL.
Salary and Benefits
- Starting salary of £35,000 (pro rata).

Working hours
- Full time: 37 hours per week.
- Part time: minimum 30 hours per week.
- Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
Leave and Public Holidays
- Annual leave: 25 days pro rata, increasing to 30 days after five years' service.
- Public holidays: 10.5 days pro rata.
Travel and Subsistence
May be required to travel within Scotland and occasionally in the UK. Travel and subsistence will be reimbursed at current rates.
Probationary Period
Three‑month probation before appointment confirmation.
Notice
Two‑month notice period after satisfactory completion of probation.
