Responsibilities: We define and maintain the target architecture for all Bord Gis business lines, including Residential, Business, and Services. We ensure our roadmaps align with enterprise standards and the strategic direction set by Retail Architecture. We provide architectural direction for the transition to ENSEK Ignition and the simplification and convergence of legacy platforms. We design architecture around the outcomes that matter most, including customer experience, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and commercial performance. We ensure architectural decisions support the OKRs for Billing, Customer Service, Market Operations, and Field Services. We challenge solutions that create unnecessary complexity or cost. We champion strategic platforms such as ENSEK Ignition and shared integration/API frameworks. We ensure Bord Gis uses shared capabilities where appropriate while identifying where local differentiation is required for the Irish market. We drive reuse of Centrica-wide accelerators and prevent divergence from Retail architectural guardrails. We operate within our architectural guardrails and decision rights, escalating only when choices impact cross-market capabilities, enterprise platforms, or strategic risk. We ensure all designs meet enterprise NFRs, security standards, and data protection obligations. We design with an understanding of Irish industry processes, legacy system integrations, and upstream and downstream impacts. We ensure architectures are robust, operable, cost-efficient, and scalable for customer growth and increased digital adoption. We work closely with Platform, Product, and programme teams to ensure our designs are buildable and grounded in delivery reality. We adapt architectural direction as the architecture evolves. We measure architectural effectiveness by delivery progress and post-go-live adoption rather than documentation. We partner with Product and Finance to assess total cost of ownership, cloud economics, licensing, vendor risk, regulatory impacts, and operational cost-to-serve. We provide analysis to support build-vs-buy decisions, platform extensions, and local differentiators for the Irish market. We act as trusted architectural advisors to Bord Gis leadership and the wider Centrica Retail organisation. We communicate architectural decisions clearly and influence outcomes through expertise. We coach and support Solution Architects and engineers working across Bord Gis initiatives. We promote clarity, quality, platform reuse, and continual improvement. We drive uplift in architectural maturity across B2C, B2B, Services, and the ENSEK Ignition migration.
