Job Title: Admin Officer
Location: Government Buildings, 31-33 Newport Rd, Cardiff, CF24 0AB
Pay: £13.85 per hour
Working Days / Hours: Monday to Saturday, part‑time / full‑time, 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. 5 days a week across the spectrum of opening hours – rota basis – rota provided 3 months in advance.
Role Overview
Brook Street, in partnership with the Home Office, offers a fantastic opportunity to join their team as an Admin Officer.
Responsibilities
* Review customer applications, hold face‑to‑face conversations to capture relevant information, and identify any safeguarding concerns.
* Record biometric data.
* Support the asylum screening process, working with colleagues to complete and issue relevant paperwork.
* Conduct visits to customers unable to be present at an SSC for biometric enrolment by attending a convenient location.
* Complete admin tasks essential to the customer application, update IT systems, digitise documents, and take responsibility for moving/tracking passports.
* Represent Decision Enablement Services positively by projecting a professional image to customers, colleagues, and stakeholders to help maintain customer service excellence.
* Additional duties within the scope of the grade may vary depending on business needs; public‑facing work is fast‑paced, interesting, and varied, with occasional pressure requiring flexibility and prioritisation.
Training & Development
No annual leave during the 6‑week training period.
Comprehensive training will be provided for each work stream in accordance with Home Office HR policies.
Clearance Level
CTC + Basic DBS (to be applied for by Brook Street upon a successful application).
Role Specific Requirements
* Hold a valid passport and have lived in the UK for longer than 3 years. Periods of 6 months or longer spent outside the UK in the last 3 years will not be accepted.
* Must have completed safeguarding training if not completed recently.
* Role requires security clearance; processing will be arranged for successful candidates.
