Are you a proactive, forward-thinking professional with a passion for logistics and customer service? We are seeking a highly motivated Transport Planner to join our clients team in Aberdeen. In this fast-paced role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient utilisation of our fleet while upholding the highest standards of safety and service.
Key Responsibilities
* Efficiently manage cargo collections and deliveries using our Transport Management System (TMS)
* Plan transport activity and communicate with the Transport & Distribution Team
* Ensure clear, accurate driver communication via the TMS phone app
* Co-ordinate the use of special vehicles (e.g. low loaders, extending trailers)
* Plan and manage abnormal loads in accordance with legislation
* Monitor vehicle tracking to improve performance and reduce inefficiencies
* Identify cost-saving opportunities related to third-party services
* Assist with vehicle servicing, MOTs, and inspections to meet compliance requirements
* Support continuous improvement in customer service, processes, and cost control
* Champion a strong HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality) culture
* Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Requirements
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent planning abilities, including financial tracking
* Ability to work independently while contributing to team success
* Resilient under pressure in fast-changing environments
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Desirable
* Experience in a high-pressure transport environment with multiple vehicle movements
* Working knowledge of road transport legislation and driver hour management
