Job Description

Birmingham Community Action Network (BCAN): Energy Programme is funded by the Energy Redress scheme, focused on the North-west Birmingham area in partnership with a consortium of voluntary sector organizations. Nishkam Civic Association is a key member of BCAN and the delivery partner for the Energy Redress Scheme.

The service will deliver energy Advice & Advocacy services and further develop the capacity of beneficiaries, with a focus on self-help and energy literacy, especially within marginalized communities.

This will be achieved by working closely with communities in community locations and the Nishkam Centre to create a sustainable Energy Support Hub.

The main purpose of the job is to provide:

* Advice and support on a range of energy-related issues, including high-level energy advice and case management
* Undertake mandatory City & Guilds training (Level 2 or 3)
* Provide advice via:
* Home energy assessment and advice visits
* In-depth in-person advice appointments
* Light-touch advice at workshops and events
* Telephone/virtual advice appointments
* Engagement and outreach work to connect with communities
* Liaise with community locations/organizations for outreach work
* Assist clients with related problems, referring them to other advisers or specialist agencies such as Community Safety Net and South Asian Family Support Hub.

Build on existing partnerships to support vulnerable people impacted by fuel and cost-of-living crises.

Manage and deliver a caseload of energy advice-related casework, including:

* Case management
* Completing application forms accurately online and offline
* Supporting clients by signposting for additional support needs
* Demonstrating measurable energy and financial savings through surveys and case studies
* Achieving outcomes as per project processes and reporting
* Ensuring all casework conforms to NCA's Office Manual and Quality assurance standards
* Accurately recording advice in CRM systems and reporting as required
