Orchestration Software Engineer - 2 year Contract - Hybrid
We're looking for an experienced Orchestration Software Engineer to support a secure, large-scale infrastructure automation programme This is a hands-on role focused on reverse engineering Legacy builds and delivering zero-touch automation across complex server, network and storage platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Reverse engineer Legacy applications and manual build processes into fully automated, parameterised deployment packages
* Develop complex Python3 automation classes for production systems
* Implement configuration management using Ansible (Puppet/Chef considered)
* Deliver OS-level automation using Bash (Linux) and PowerShell (Windows Server)
* Automate deployment across multi-vendor server, network and storage technologies
* Build and support Jenkins pipelines for configuration generation and builds
* Troubleshoot hardware and software component failures
* Produce production-quality code using Git/BitBucket and participate in peer reviews
* Produce and review detailed technical design artefacts
* Support system integration and wider platform testing activities
* Work within Agile delivery teams using JIRA and Confluence
* Collaborate with Service Management teams to resolve live platform issues
