Location: Home-based with regular travel across London and the South East (occasional travel/overnights elsewhere)
Contract: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: GBP 45,000 - GBP 55,000, dependent on experience and qualifications
What you'll do
* Serve as the fire safety lead for the consultancy team, reviewing legislative and standards changes and communicating updates effectively.
* Develop and maintain report templates; oversee team accreditations and certifications (including BAFE SP205).
* Meet KPI expectations for visit scheduling, report quality, turnaround and completion.
* Mentor consultants and design/deliver fire safety training to the wider business.
* Spot and develop new fee-earning opportunities.
* Coordinate with stakeholders across Property Management and related UK teams to ensure an integrated approach and drive continuous improvement.
* Provide clear, consistent reporting to line management.
* Initiate proactive, best-practice improvements that support a best-in-class service.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties aligned to the position.
What you'll bring
* Minimum 10 years' experience in a senior fire safety role, ideally within Property or Facilities Management (desirable).
* Recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification (essential) and third-party accreditation/registration on a recognised assessor register (e.g., IFSM / IFE) (essential).
* Experience as a BAFE SP205 validator, including establishing/maintaining certification (desirable).
* A recognised H and S qualification at Level 3+ (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate) (desirable).
* Strong, current knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and standards (essential).
* Experience auditing against ISO management standards (desirable).
* Understanding of fire engineering principles and fire strategy development (desirable).
* Excellent communication, decision-making and negotiation skills; strong interpersonal and influencing capability.
* Sharp analytical skills and high attention to detail.
* Proven ability to plan site programmes to a fixed schedule and produce timely, high-quality reports.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
* Comfortable working with delegated authority and operating independently.
* IT-literate, with experience of compliance platforms and professional report writing.
* Relevant professional memberships/qualifications (e.g., IOSH).
