What you'll be doing
* Designing and implementing scalable data solutions that meet enterprise needs.
* Translating complex business requirements into high-performing data systems.
* Supporting best practices in
data governance, security and architecture
.
* Building and optimising pipelines across cloud and on-premise environments.
* Collaborating with stakeholders, engineers, and analysts to deliver integrated solutions.
* Ensuring consistency across transactional and analytical data systems.
* Contributing to the development of
data lakes, data warehouses, and distributed storage environments
.
* Mentoring junior engineers, embedding best practice across the team.
What we're looking for
* 5+ years' experience in
Data Engineering
, with strong expertise in
Azure data services and/or Microsoft Fabric
.
* Proven track record designing scalable platforms and managing large cloud-based ecosystems.
* Proficiency in
Python, PySpark, SQL, NoSQL
and frameworks such as
Databricks
.
* Solid experience with
ETL/ELT design, orchestration and optimisation
.
* Knowledge of
data governance, privacy regulations, and security best practices
.
* Strong experience integrating relational, NoSQL, and streaming data sources.
* Competence in CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
* Experience with modern architectures including
data mesh, event-driven processing, and streaming platforms (Kafka/Event Hub)
.
* Excellent stakeholder communication skills.
* A passion for mentoring and embedding engineering best practice.
